Gurkha Fort

Dagshai

5689 ft above sea level, Dagshai provides an almost unrealistic view of Panchkula and Chandigarh city lights. The town has a haunted essence for it has witnessed several executions and tortures in the Central jail during the British Raj. The Dagsahi Central Jail Museum is the only one of the two jail museums in the country and is also used as an office under the Military Engineering Service.

Gurudwara Nada Sahib

Guru Gobind Singh Ji had halted here in 1688 on his visit to Anandpur Sahib after the Battle of Bhangani. Upon this blessed ground a Gurudwara was built, however, the original structure was soon replaced by a two-story dome with a large spacious brick courtyard. Accompanied by a Museum, the Gurudwara also stands to educate and inform of its rich history.

Railway Kalka Railway Station

Trains can be availed from the Chandigarh Junction Railway station to Kalka from where Parwanoo is just 4 km away. One can also avail trains from Solan which is 40kms away. The trains bound for Shimla from Kalka pass through the Taksal railway Station situated within Parwanoo. It is considered to be a heritage rail line passing making travel easier for travellers. If you board a non-ac bogie, the experience of being carried upon the hills is quite joyous.

Roadway Parwanoo Bus Stand

Parwanoo is best reached by road as it is a popular road trip destination Buses are frequently and easily available from neighbouring cities like Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Ambala, and Punjab. The town falls on the Chandigarh-Shimla highway of NH22 as one passes Panchkula on its way. Once you have reached MDR 6, Parwanoo can be easily reached shortly.
