Sariska allows a unique experience of the silence of the deserts coupled with the essence of traditionalism and safaris that will keep you on your toes.
The Sariska National Park, snuggled within the Aravali Hills is a destination within the rich aesthetics of Rajasthan
that abounds in the very quintessential north Indian scenery of grasslands and arid forests. It is rich in mineral
resources, abundant in deciduous forests, and packed with the ideal Rajasthani flavours. It lies within a short distance
from Jaipur and Delhi, thus sharing their cultural zest and piquancy. Not only does Sairiska function as a perfect
destination for Safaris and wildlife photography but it is also great for exploring the native, unwritten historical
beauty that might interest a few.
Must Visit
The Silisher Lake, Kankwari Fort, Bhangarh Fort, Pratapgarh Fort, and Ajabgarh Fort will entice your senses. Safari is
the primary attraction here and seeing a wild animal only a few feet away is in itself exciting. Try the Kalakand,
Gheewar, and Dal Bati Churma. Bag some bangles and Rajput-style jewellery to take back.
Best time to visit
In winters colourful and vibrant migrant birds visit the lakes and hills, in the summers the mammals come out of their
hiding for water. The best time to visit would be anything between October to June as the park remains closed from July
through September. You can enjoy the thrill of a safari with clear skies and suitable clothing. Be sure to have your
cameras ready to capture the wild beauties to not miss your chance.
Trivia
Declared a wildlife Reserve in 1955, and included within the Tiger Project in 1978, it became a key location for
biodiversity in the Northern Aravalli leopard and wildlife corridor.
Interest
Sightings of Bengal tigers, leopards, rhesus macaques, chital, jungle cats, sambar, and wild boars are common in this wildlife sanctuary. The verdant landscape attracts many, and jungle safaris through dense forests, rocky terrain, and historical ruins like Kankwari Fort add to the thrill.
