Panchgani

With the mélange of a panoramic backdrop and intriguing historical remnants, Panvel offers you the chance to unravel in nature and discover comfort and quiet.

Panvel lands you sedated within the laps of nature. The lush green Matheran Mountains rise to the east, as a blunt cape, after having rolled for miles on verdurous grounds, and to the west lies a ruined Fort of Karnal atop a mossy rock face, intriguing and intimidating. Forts built under the great Shivaji still stand erect and manage to inspire. Giving the benefits of city life and also intimacy with nature with its bird sanctuary, and scenic Gadeshwar Dam backdropped by the majestic Matheran Hills, this city is just perfect to get away from the routine life at home.

Must Visit

If you crave a camp experience, the Prabalmachi Fireflies Night Trek is ideal for you. Go trekking to Prabalgad Fort and through Kalavantin Durg. The Dahi handi festival is a celebration you shouldn't miss along with sighting rare birds at the Karnala Bird Sanctuary. Indulge in the Agri Cuisine of Panvelities and take home a box of their modaks.

Best time to visit

Winter with its moderately cool temperatures and complacent atmosphere can enable you to make the most of your short trip. The clouds arrange themselves densely around the peaks, vibrant birds gather around lakes and the water ripples across the surface, over-brimmed by the recent rains. Such sights can induce you to absorb the beauty and the tranquillity to the T.

Trivia

Lying close to the Panvel Creek, this town forms a gateway to the Konkan Coast and had been used as a strategic trading ground for the Mughals and Marathas.

Interest

Getting away from mainstream holiday spots and immersing yourself in a more intimate space that allows you to appreciate quirky charms, scenic beauty, and quaint colonial architecture is likely what will captivate you in the curious town of Panchgani.

Scenic hilltop views with a backdrop of the lush valley make Panchgani the perfect place to host a wedding. Venues offered by the Bliss Resort and the Ravine Hotel provide the luxurious spaces and modern amenities to have a memorable time.
