Alibaug is best travelled to, by road. Buses running on this route leave every 30 mins from the Mumbai Central Bus Terminus. Private buses are sure to guarantee a comfortable journey, but it's better not to keep very high expectations regarding those operated by the state. The buses under Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) are excellent when it comes to rapid movement and punctuality, but not so classified in terms of luxury. However, at a minor pocket pinch and easily available bookings, these more than suffice for a short journey of 50 kms.

Alibaug is connected to Mumbai, as well as Bhaucha Dhaka via waterways. The services are mostly time bound, operational within the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. From both the places, there are speedboats running on this route connecting Mumbai to Mandwa, and Bhauvha Dhaka to Rewas. Mandwa and Rewas thereafter, are connected to Alibaug via roadway. All services on the waters are subject to the timings of the tide.
